The Constellation

It's nice being right next to a grocery. 5 min walk to bus stops. 10 min bike to law school. next to some great restaurants and a main street. Short walk to other neighborhoods.

Great size. Sub-par amenities. Fair rent.

Not the best maintenance help. Expensive monthly parking.

Apartment is located near a number of great restaurants, bars, and music venues that are frequented by the upper 20s-early/mid 30s crowd. Maintenance requests take a little longer than I would like, but in general, I am happy with the apartment overall and will be renewing my lease for another year.

The Constellation is located on East Washington Ave, the main bus line, and directly across the street from a grocery store. Depending on which side of the building you live on, you get great views of both lakes from your balcony. There are many attractions within a couple of blocks walk; the Sylvee music hall, tons of restaurants, and Will street. During the warmer months, the street traffic on East Washington can be a nuisance.

The building is located directly on East Washington Ave, which is a main bus line, the grocery store is directly across the street, there are many restaurants within walking distance, and the higher floors offer great views of both lakes. Being located on the main access road does make for some noisy evenings due to loud passing vehicles. You avoid this noise by living on the Northside of the building.

The Constellation is optimally located. Situated on East Washington Ave. (approx. 1.5 miles from Grainger), The Constellation checks all of the boxes. The building is located on the main bus route, next door to the largest grocery store in downtown Madison, surrounded by many bars and restaurants, and apartments have great views of both lakes. The only downside worth noting is that traffic noise on Washington Ave. can be quite a nuisance (e.g. emergency vehicle sirens and loud vehicle exhaust).

This apartment building is a bit far from campus -- about a 30 min. walk -- but it's on many direct bus routes and takes only 10-15 minutes to get to campus via bus. I love the area where the building is, right between fun and funky Willy Street and some of the shops along the E. Johnson corridor.

The building itself is quite nice and management/maintenance is very responsive. Building has a free gym and is connected to a coffee shop, a bar, and a ramen noodle restaurant. So you never have to leave home for the essentials. My studio is spacious and comfortable, albeit a little more expensive than I would like.

The Constellation has been a great place to live. Apartments are modern, they're pet friendly (up to 40 pounds) and it's half a mile from the square.
