Good but far

The apartment has been great, no issues that were not fixed. It is on the expensive side but has central AC and heating. There are only two things that I hate about the apartment. One is that it is far from case so you will need to drive or ride the bus and the other is the $2 to wash and $2 to dry a load of laundry (this shit is way to expensive).

General info

Management is nice and helpful. Packages are always delivered to your apartment door with no issue. Residents are quiet. Rent for first year started at $930 for first term lease and increased to $960 at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and my second term lease...

Excellent large living space

The Concord has been a great experience with few issues over the many years I lived here. The main thing is that you need a car for commute to Case campus.

It’s a great place to live.

It’s a great place to live—within walking distance from Daves, USPS, Home Depot, Marshalls. And it’s clean and safe. But it’s not in the school area and you’d better drive to school because it need relative longe time between buses.

Good landing spot for first time Cleveland residents

Overall I've had a good experience at the Concord. The unit itself is newly renovated with hardwood flooring in the living room and kitchen, appliances in good working order, and granite countertops. There's free outdoor parking in front of the building. Management has been very friendly although I haven't needed to call maintenance yet. Additionally the location is good as it's right across the street from a Dave's and right in front of the 9 RTA bus which goes to the HEC. The apartment itself is in front of the Cleveland Heights police station and safety hasn't felt like an issue.

In terms of downsides, the water pressure for the sink is lacking (although the shower is fine) and recycling can be a chore because you have to walk to the back of the building. Also there is a pervasive smoke smell in some hallways and most of the common areas look a bit worn down. Finally, Severance Circle itself is somewhat of an abandoned mall area and there's not much besides groceries within walking distance.

The fitness center has also been mostly closed due to COVID but that's outside of the management's control of course.

Great building

It's a great building with really incredible staff. The apartments are spacious and newly updated. They have community washers and dryers, which is the part that I don't like.

I have a lot of friends who live nearby, and it's really easy to go see them. There's a grocery store within walking distance and lots of shops, including a bookstore. I also really like the fact there's a community garden on my street. The neighborhood has excellent public transit (3 buses run by my apartment, for example), and is a 30 minute walk from Case.
It is more expensive to live in Coventry than Little Italy, but it feels much safer, and parking is a lot easier.
I do not go out and meet people so it works for me. You will most likely be meeting older people in the apartment who like to hangout in the lobby, and there is no social scene in the circle. Very safe though with city hall and the police department next door.
Feels safe. Walkable. Lots of restaurants and shops, parking for visitors. Lots of stops for free shuttles and RTA transportation. i think rent around there tends to be higher though because of the location. library near by. I can walk to school but doesnt always feel safe when walking down or up the hill to Little Italy. My drive is only five minutes. Before I had a reliable car, I mostly took the shuttle when I didn't want to walk. Shuttles come every twenty to 45 minutes. It depends on the line and the time of day.
The surrounding area appears to be really nice, especially during the summer when daylight is longer. I’m able to walk around and feel just fine. But in the same breath there’s also been gunshots fired in the parking lot next to my apartment. So I do have to dock points because I wouldn’t say it’s the most unsafe place because in a sense that is an isolated event that hasn’t happened again, but also I don’t personally feel comfortable walking especially to school when there is less light out.
The neighborhood is not too busy. There are restaurants and a grocery store close by and many of the apartment have nice exteriors. It is also right on transit and shuttle routes.
Cedar Fairmount is an ideal location for your first two years of medical school. It is located a brisk 5-7 min drive from the HEC and offers a quaint downtown area. This area includes a bar, several restaurants, a grocery store, and more.
The neighborhood is pretty safe. I mean Mayfield can get a little dangerous, but if you are not out late at night then it is pretty safe.
Life here is convenient. There're a local chained grocery store, HomeDepot, Marshall's, and OfficeDepot in the Circle.
